Your birth at the maternity hospital
At the maternity hospital, we do everything we can to ensure that the birth of your child takes place in the best possible conditions, with care, safety and peace of mind.
When you arrive
Our midwives will welcome you in the delivery room 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Before you come or if you have any doubts
You can contact us at any time:
Personalised support
A midwife is at your side throughout labour. She will provide you with attentive support, taking into account your expectations and wishes.
The presence of your gynaecologist
Your gynaecologist will be notified as soon as you arrive. He or she will be present during the birth and will be in constant contact with the midwifery team.
Continuous monitoring
Your baby's heart rate and your contractions are continuously monitored. If you wish to move around, a telemetry system (wireless monitoring) allows you to maintain surveillance while leaving you free to move about.
During childbirth
A calm and reassuring environment
We have designed a setting that is conducive to well-being, so that you can experience this unique moment in peace.
First contact with your baby
Skin-to-skin contact is encouraged from birth, to strengthen the parent-child bond and support breastfeeding if you wish.
Welcoming and assessment of newborn babies
A midwife or nursery nurse welcomes your baby, checks that he or she is adapting well to the birth and assists you with the first steps.
Neonatal resuscitation skills
Our team is trained in resuscitation techniques in accordance with the recommendations of the Swiss Neonatology Society, so that they can intervene quickly if necessary.
Anaesthesia available at all times
An anaesthetist is on site 24 hours a day. He can intervene at any time, at your request or according to medical needs.
Personalised paediatric care
The paediatrician of your choice, or the one on call, will examine your baby at birth and provide medical care during your stay.
At Clinique Générale-Beaulieu, we provide comprehensive mother-child care. We do everything we can to make the birth of your child a unique experience, and to ensure that your stay meets your expectations.
