Public Lecture: Breast Cancer – Beyond Tumor Treatment

Wednesday, October 14, 2026, 6:00–7:00 p.m.
Privatklinik Bethanien
Toblerstrasse 51, 8044 Zurich

Breast cancer treatment involves far more than treating the tumor itself. Nutrition, treatment-related side effects, and symptoms following surgery can affect patients during and after therapy and may have an impact on their quality of life. To mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, Swiss Breast Care and Privatklinik Bethanien invite you to an informative evening with female experts.

The specialists will provide an accessible overview of various aspects of care during and after breast cancer treatment. They will explain the role nutrition can play, the options available for managing hot flashes during anti-hormonal therapy, and what may help with symptoms such as lymphedema, scarring, or pain.

Topics of the Lecture

What should a breast cancer patient have on her plate?
Nutrition between prevention, treatment, and malnutrition.
PD Dr. med. Daniela Paepke

Hot flashes during anti-hormonal therapy
What can the new hormone-free medications do?
Dr. med. Ivrea Florio

Lymphedema, scars, and pain
What can help after breast cancer?
Gabriela Stoss and Aisha Lüke

The evening will provide guidance on important topics that go beyond the treatment of the tumor itself and will give patients and other interested participants the opportunity to receive first-hand information.

During the apéro following the presentations, you will have the opportunity to discuss questions raised during the talks and speak personally with the speakers.

Participation is free of charge.
